Movement

Manufacturing Process
Objective

To create a revolutionary tourbillon movement that combines technical excellence with enhanced reliability and durability. By significantly reducing the complexity typically found in traditional movements, we aimed to produce a caliber that not only showcases exceptional craftsmanship but also delivers unparalleled performance and longevity. The result is a horological masterpiece that seamlessly blends visual allure with mechanical superiority.

The Chronometer Flying Tourbillon - Elyssian Movement (FT-1-1-GL) movement builds upon Aventi's experience in creating high-end proprietary watch calibers, pushing boundaries with an innovative flying tourbillon design. Unlike the GT-01S, our previous more conventional caliber, the FT-1-1-GL's flying tourbillon is anchored on the base plate only, eliminating the upper bridge. This change not only enhances the movement's aesthetic appeal but also demands superior engineering to maintain balance and minimizes positional errors. Consequently, the new movement offers a smoother, more fluid visual experience, showcasing Aventi's mastery of horological complexities.

Development Journey
Initial Challenges
Component Reduction
Traditional tourbillon movements typically contain over 300 components, each requiring precise alignment. Our challenge was to reduce this count significantly. With the Chronometer Flying Tourbillon - Elyssian Movement (FT-1-1-GL), we've managed to bring the component count down to just 63—a remarkable achievement that improves the caliber’s performance, reliability, or functionality.
Precision Craftsmanship
Meticulously fabricating each of the 63 components to meet stringent tolerances essential for a high-caliber timepiece. This painstaking attention to detail was paramount in ensuring the movement's flawless operation and longevity.
Breakthroughs
Innovative Design
Our engineers crafted an exquisite skeletonized design for this caliber. This masterpiece not only captivates the eye by showcasing the intricate mechanics within but also serves a dual purpose — enhancing the movement's structural integrity while significantly reducing its overall weight. The Chronometer Flying Tourbillon - Elyssian Movement (FT-1-1-GL) movement weighs a mere 20.5 grams.
Innovative Materials and Finishes
We chose high-tensile watchmaking brass for the main plate and bridge, masterfully skeletonized and adorned with 5-micron 18k yellow gold plating, polished to a mirror sheen. This combination perfectly balances aesthetics, durability and lightweight design. The result? A visually captivating movement that's also masterfully resilient against environmental wear and tear.
